Freezing Hands, A New Year, and “See You Later”

Yesterday I had to say “see you later” to one of my closest friends as he traveled 1,500 miles away for college. It was definitely sad for me, especially when I hadn’t seen him in such a long time due to myself being away at college, but he chose to spend his last full day hanging out with me (which made me feel very special). We definitely had a great day and I was sad to say goodbye, but I know that we’ll see each other again sooner or later!

It was soooooo cold yesterday and we made the weird choice to go see a movie at an outdoor mall (and we parked on the other side of the mall…) so we were freezing our hands off trying to get from Point A to Point B in time for the movie to start…it was funny. Processed with VSCO with c1 presetI managed to have my gloves off for enough time to get this selfie but even then, my hands were terribly cold. The windchill was -22 degrees Fahrenheit I believe…they don’t play around when they give out warnings about keeping warm when temperatures are that low!!!

We went and saw ‘Coco’ because it looked really good from what we saw in the previews, and boy oh boy it did not disappoint! It was SO GOOD!! I think I reacted to it more than the kids that were in the theatre, there were so many good twists and turns and emotional scenes that it really was a well rounded cartoon. I loved it and would totally watch it again. It was so cute.

Earlier in the day we went to the indoor mall in our city to eat and to walk around a little bit, and we ended up running into my grandpa which was super funny. He was just going stir crazy and needed out of the house. It was a nice surprise to run into him!

Then after that we headed over to the outdoor mall but we had time to spare before the movie and found ourselves at Starbucks (because I’m basic ok). It was fun.

Anywayyyyyyy I was sad to see my best friend move 1,500 miles away BUT I’m glad to have started out 2018 by spending the day with him! I’m so optimistic for the new year and I’m glad it got to a good start!!! 🙂
