A Look Back Through High School

As the school year ends and I get ready to graduate in 3 days, I just wanted to reflect back on my time at EAU and how much it has changed my life.

I cannot imagine not going to EAU after all these years, it was the best decision I have ever made and I was the young age of 13 at the time. The faculty and students are amazing and make everyone feel welcome and a part of the EAU “family”. It was not like any other high school that I’ve seen. Our classes develop such a tight bond by the end of senior year because we don’t gain any new students throughout the years.

I have grown so much in my time at EAU and I am so appreciative of the teachers who helped that happen. Lots of encouragement and time spent to help better my skills. I will miss my teachers soooo much, but I feel so ready for college after going to EAU and earning my Associate’s degree already.

I will definitely miss all of the people, good memories, and comfort of my high school.

Here’s to the last 4 years of high school and to what awaits in the future!

Easter Prep & Econ Assignments

Processed with VSCO with c1 presetI can’t believe tomorrow is Easter! We’re also officially a week away from my senior prom. I can’t believe how fast this year is going.

It was close to 80 degrees here in IN today so it was the perfect day to go out and get my Econ assignment done. My teacher gave us the option between 3 different 100 point assignments and I chose the one where I have to go around to different businesses and take a selfie with their logo or product. My best friend drove me to the mall since I can’t drive and it was so beautiful at the outdoor mall!

We spent tonight coloring Easter eggs and making some food for tomorrow’s Easter dinner with my grandpa!

I hope that everyone who celebrates Easter has a wonderful holiday with their families!

God bless

Halfway through Spring Break

This Spring Break has mostly been about resting and quite literally taking a break from all the stress from school. So far my family has gone out to see the new Beauty and the Beast movie in the actual movie theater and I painted my room my favorite color!!! It’s been great, but I don’t want to go back to school!

Exploring Fort Wayne

Today was so gloomy but I made plans to go to the library downtown with my friend to work on our papers for English. I wasn’t looking forward to it because it was raining outside, but did anyway.

We stayed there for a few hours…

…but then went driving around looking at street art!! It was so fun and so amazing to see so much talent on buildings!!

(I do not own any of this beautiful art)

First we went to the side of Pint & Slice downtown.

After taking these pictures we walked around downtown a little bit.

Then we drove around for a little bit and accidentally found this art!

We then decided to go to Hyde Brothers, Booksellers because they had a cool mural AND I’ve always wanted to go inside the old used bookstore.

Here are some photos on the inside! I loved Scout, one of their bookstore cats! ❤

After Hyde Bros., we went to Wunderkammer Company which was beautiful!

I’m not sure who did some of these pieces, but there’s some signed art if you look on some of the close ups.

It was so fun being able to see this art with my best friend today!

Until next time,

S.L. ❤

Is spring finally here?

We’ve had such weird weather in Indiana lately. Yesterday it was in the mid 70’s, while a week ago we were experiencing a snow storm…

What?

That is exactly how our weather has been all winter. In fact, it was in the 60’s for a whole WEEK in February, then the temps dropped to the 20’s and 30’s again. Although this time I’m hoping the nice, warm weather is here to stay. With the spring equinox passed already, I’m hoping the cold weather subsides for now. I feel so much happier when the weather is warm.

For right now the weather forecast looks promising, with highs in the 50’s and 60’s for the next 9 days. I’ll hold onto the hope that it stays that way!

3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

It’s been a rough couple of months and I apologize for being MIA, but I am back and wanted to share this amazing cookie recipe with you guys!

Today during school we had these things called EAYou Days and we could sign up for different classes that aren’t typical school subjects. I signed up for Basic Cooking with some of my friends and we made these cookies during the session. They were so good I came home and made them myself!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Ingredients

1 cup PB

1 cup sugar

1 egg

Directions

Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Once mixed, roll into balls. Place balls 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet and press a fork into them. Bake for 10-12 minutes until they are golden brown. Let cool, and enjoy!

Nothing Can Ever Prepare You For “That” News

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” Matthew 5:4

I am so sorry for being absent for the past month. It has been a long month indeed. I last wrote a post about Christmas and how great of a holiday it was. Oh, it was. And it was a great New Years with my mom watching movies and drinking sparkling cider. We toasted and rung in the new year with the ball drop, everyone sending “Happy New Years!!!” texts. It was a very happy time.

Our world went spiraling downwards on Wednesday, January 11th when my mom came home and told me that my dad was dead. Those two words that she said to me did not sound real in my ears. “Daddy’s dead”. No. He can’t be. I cried and cried. As rocky as my relationship was with him, I loved him. I still love him.

He’s not going to be there to see me graduate. He’s not going to be at my wedding. He’s not going to see my children. He’s going to miss out on so much. And that hurts.

I need prayers for comfort and healing. Even after two and a half weeks I’m still in shock about him being gone. He’s really gone. I’m never going to hear him say “I love you” or get a hug from him ever again. I’m never going to have him text me telling me about the sunset that night again. He’s gone and it breaks my heart. Nothing can ever prepare you for that news. Nothing can.

I miss you daddy.
